Tuesday Tidbit: Try a Veggie Burger

Last week, I told you that people who eat more red meat have a higher risk for colorectal cancer. Seafood, veggie and poultry eaters have a lower risk . . . why not try subbing healthier ingredients in your burgers? You might find a new favorite! Some veggie burgers have a “meaty” taste, and some soy-based burgers are high in protein – check the labels because grain-based and wholly veggie burgers usually have less protein. Also note sodium contents.

Or, why not make your own? Doesn’t taste like a hamburger, but these turkey burgers ROCK.

      Never tried them, Paul – I’ll look out for them – chipotle & black beans are a fav combo of mine! Love too that they’re not trying to be “beef-like.” If I want a hamburger (rarely happens, but it does), I’m gonna have a hamburger! Thanks for the tip.
