They aren’t true skinny jeans (I always find flares to be more my style and a better fit for my shape).

Your approach is a smart one. You get to enjoy all the delicious treats of the season, BUT still be reasonable.

For most of the population, they just don’t look that good. They suit people who have naturally birdlike legs and very slim — read androgynous — hips. I know a number of fit people who wear them and could make a different choice with no harm. Sure, they may be stylish in a trendy way, but so were teased, asymmetrical haircuts, oversized shirts with wide shoulders and wide belts over leggings in the ’80s. So eat an apple for breakfast, bake the cookies, eat a cookie or two, and go buy some jeans that will flatter you no matter what. Happy times in the kitchen!
