Tuesday Tidbit: Try a New Veggie

Studies show that people who eat more vegetables tend to be thinner – that’s probably because the veg is crowding out less-nutritious, more calorie-dense food. But let’s be real. How often do you try something new? Challenge yourself to one new-to-you veggie per week for a month. Use my search box on the blog here for recipe ideas!

{Big wet smooches and good veggie karma to whoever can name the veggie pictured at the top of this post.}

    Love the kohlrabi. I put it shredded into my summer slaws!

      Congrats, Allison! I love it too – and had never had it ’til I got some in my CSA box a few years ago.

    I really need to try adding one new veggie per month like you suggest. I live in a really diverse neighborhood in NYC and there are always such interesting fruits and vegetables at the market. I added bok choy this year and I love it. Thanks for the reminder!

      Go for it, Erin! I like to pick something, then bring it home & Google recipes. Love bok choy – used it a bunch in my green smoothies this summer when it came in my CSA share, but also great so many other ways. So good for you!
